From Triple Platinum to New Beginnings: MIKOLAS Launches ‘SAMBA’ and a Spectacular Comeback

MIKOLAS, one of the Czech Republic’s most streamed artists, is embarking on a new musical chapter with the release of his single “SAMBA,” the lead track from his eagerly awaited second studio album, “II.” To coincide with this release, MIKOLAS has announced a return performance at the Lucerna Great Hall, which boasts a capacity of 2,500 and sold out in just over seven minutes.

Expressing his enthusiasm, MIKOLAS stated, “I am both humbled and excited. It’s a significant responsibility towards my fans, and I know they are looking forward to an exceptional show. I can’t wait.”

Following the remarkable success of his debut album “ONE,” which achieved triple platinum status (source: IFPI, released March 22, 2024) and has recently surpassed 120 million streams on Spotify, “SAMBA” provides fans with a glimpse into the darker, more intense alter ego of MIKOLAS.

To celebrate this milestone, MIKOLAS hosted an exclusive VIP release party on April 24 in Prague—his first fan-focused live event in several years. Fans could attend free of charge by registering through his fan portal at www.mikolas.com.

Announced just a week prior, the event featured a live performance of MIKOLAS’s greatest hits, the live debut of “SAMBA,” exclusive merchandise, complimentary welcome drinks for attendees, and a personal meet-and-greet for the first 100 fans.

In an unexpected announcement, MIKOLAS also launched his own magazine, “EMPIRE,” during the release week. Written in a personal diary format, the magazine offers fans a unique glimpse into his life and creative process.

“I aimed to establish a one-of-a-kind, unfiltered connection with those who follow me on this incredible journey. And I truly enjoy it,” he remarked.

The magazine includes a detailed personal account of the album’s creation and the single “SAMBA.” MIKOLAS candidly discusses the challenges he faced on his path back to Eurovision, revealing that both “SAMBA” and “DELILAH” were contenders for a return to the Eurovision stage. He elaborates on the significance of “SAMBA,” addresses fan questions regarding confidence and creativity, and shares insights into the realities of pursuing one’s dreams. He dedicates the inaugural issue to Parketa, his late tour manager, and Anna Slováčková, a friend and fellow artist, both of whom recently passed away.

“EMPIRE” invites readers into the mind of MIKOLAS, providing a rare and intimate perspective on his life and artistic journey. It is available through the fan portal on his website.

The single “SAMBA” also conveys a social message, as MIKOLAS dedicates it to single parents. After sharing a personal story about single parenthood in his family within “EMPIRE,” he expressed, “It opened my eyes to the very real struggles that single parents face. It’s not just a side story—it’s a widespread issue that deserves attention.”

His sophomore album “II” is anticipated to be released later this year.
