Space is the album’s primary instrument: the arrangements leave room for the vocal to sit close and the groove to unfold at its own pace. That patience sets the tone for Only Bee’s self-titled debut, a record that feels suspended between physical movement and emotional vulnerability. It never rushes the moment, letting the voice and the rhythm share the same breath. The result is music that moves without forcing the moment, where sensuality and narrative tension coexist naturally.
Behind the project is Italian singer and songwriter Beatrice De Cristofaro, who moved to Naples in 2024 seeking a more authentic artistic space. The album grew out of the creative ecosystem around Soul Express Records, with contributions from Whodamanny, Milord, Thanksmate, Giuseppe Fava, Obbi and 1MorePizzaPls, alongside musicians Roberto Porzio, Daniel Monaco, Michele Morsilli and Daniele Labbate. That collective process shapes the record’s flow: tracks breathe, grooves stay loose, and the narrative identity never feels forced.
On ‘Night and Day’, the vocal and the low-end share the same breath, a moment that captures the album’s balance of intimacy and movement. The record’s most affecting passages come when the arrangement thins out, leaving the voice exposed and the groove to carry the emotional weight. It’s a debut that rewards close listening as much as it does a late-night set, finding its power in restraint rather than release.
