Philipp de Castro’s Morfema EP moves like a body submerged in dark water, a sharp turn from the angular paths of his earlier work. It marks the second release on Fala Nocturna and the first full EP to carry the Philipp de Castro name.
The material began as a live set, then was stripped back and reshaped into something more patient. Modular synths form the backbone, with acid lines climbing into high resonance peaks and metallic polyrhythms that keep the mind locked. A faint vocal choir surfaces occasionally, a human trace against the machinery.
Most of the EP hovers at a downtempo pulse, but ‘Acronímia’ shifts into a 121 BPM 4/4 framework, offering a more traditional club tool without breaking the EP’s hypnotic spell. It’s music for DJs who trust the room to follow a slower, stranger arc.
